Bad quality of after care – no justified withhold of our deposit
Unfortunately I have to write a negative review after contacting interhouse several times over the past months about the unpleasant completion of our rental period. We rented a house through Interhouse. The service of interhouse was good. Nice people that helped us with the contract. Unfortunately the house was not clean when we moved in. We cleaned the house ourselves as it was Christmas and interhouse did not have any cleaners available. During the rental period everything went ok. When we had the handover, a very friendly man checked everything. As we had the house cleaned by a professional (which was not obligated as we received the house in a different state) everything was approved and with only a broken garbage can he mentioned that this was due to the age of the garbage can and we would receive full refund of our deposit. Two months later (!) we received only 90% of our depost. When I contacted Interhouse they emailed a list with things that were supposed to be missing from the house (things like an oven dish that had never been there…) The amount of mony was not a huge amount but was absolutely not related to the things reported. I contacted Interhouse several times by Phone and by email. After months I finally spoke to the friendly man that had checked us out. He apologized and promissed us to contact the owners of the house and to get back to us as soon as possible. We never heard from him again, also not after serveral phone calls and emails. Such a shame! Maybe they are too busy, maybe they just don’t care.
